TRACK & FIELD Track and Field

The Kearns Recreation Center Track and Field Club is for all youth ages 6 to 18. This program is coached by Kearns High School Track & Field coaches. Practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Kearns High Track beginning May 20, 2014. Athletes will compete in three meets and the All-County Track meet in July. Track meet schedule now available. 

 

 

SUMMER SKATE CAMPS!

Learn the basics or improve your skills at Spock's Summer Skate Camps Skateboard Camps. Camps will run 3 to 4 weeks on Monday mornings from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Kearns Skate Park. This program is for all youth 6 to 14 years old. Participants will discuss skate park etiquette and learn how to ollie and grind and learn new tricks from professional instructors. Skaters will be grouped by ability on the first day of camp and work with instructors to learn skills and tricks at their own pace.

  

 

SUMMER OUTDOOR SOCCER

Spring Outdoor Soccer

Outdoor Soccer is one of our most popular programs so register early to reserve your spot! This program is for all youth from Pre-K (at least 3 years old) through 6th grade. Each team will play two games each week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday evenings - NO FRIDAYS OR SATURDAYS! - at the Oquirrh Park Soccer Fields (5850 South 4800 West) beginning June 16, 2014. Cost is $36 and includes 8 sessions, a team shirt and a participation award. Game schedules now available.

 

 

SUMMER TEEBALL & COACH-PITCH BASEBALL summer teeball

Salt Lake Bees TeeBall and Coach Pitch Baseball is for all youth 3 to 8 years old. This is a recreational baseball program to teach the fundamentals of baseball and promote sportsmanship in a fun, fair environment. Games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Oquirrh Park baseball fields (next to Beehive Elementary)beginning June 17, 2014. Game schedules now available.

 

  

HEAD INJURY POLICY - In March of 2011, Governor Gary Herbert signed HB 204 into law. This bill, known as the "Protection of Athletes with Head Injuries Act" requires all parents / legal guardians to receive a copy of our policy outlining procedures for protecting young athletes. You will be required to read this policy and agree to its terms before registering online or in person - Head Injury Release Form. Feel free to call us if you would like more information. Youth Sports Coach Certification and Discount Program. Receive a discount on your child's registration if you complete the course and volunteer to coach. We offer a variety of programs to keep your children busy during the upcoming summer season. Come check out the fun!

DANCE CLASSES

Dance Classes

GET UP AND DANCE! Our newly revised monthly dance program for all youth ages 3 to 12. Two classes are offered on Tuesday evenings:

Mini Dance Class for ages 3-5 runs from 6:00 to 7:00pm and is an introduction to dance. Young Dancers will learn the basics of rhythm and movement in a fun environment.

Junior Dance Class for ages 6-12 runs from 7:00 to 8:00pm and is designed for beginners and experienced dancers alike! This class is designed to build technique, self-esteem, teamwork and performing skills.

Callie Short, our new dance teacher, comes with years of dance and choreography experience and is excited to take this program to the next level!

 

Olympic Style Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do KarateA children’s program to help your child not only increase their fitness, flexibility and strength, but will also boost their confidence and self-discipline all while having fun! .

Our adult program offers a workout that includes strength training, physical conditioning, flexibility, self-discipline, and street smarts put together in a comprehensive program.

 

 SIRENZ CHEER Madd Cheer

We've changed our name but the program is the same. Come join our classes - one class will focus on basic cheer skills including stunts and the other class will work on jumps and tumbling. No previous cheer or dance experience is necessary.

  CHILD CARE

 

Our State-licensed Child Care programs run year-round. We now have openings for your child.

 

NEW REFERRAL INCENTIVE! - We now offer a $50 credit towards your childcare if you refer someone who signs their children up for our childcare programs.

 

SUMMER CAMP!

Summer CampNo need to look any further on how to keep your children busy and engaged during the summer - register them for our summer camp! We offer camp June through August for those children on a traditional school schedule. Registrations are now being taken on a first-come, first-serve basis until sessions are full - so don't wait! Summer Camp Calendars now available!

 

 

School-Year Child Care

We operate a State-licensed full-time child care operation with programs for pre-school, pre-k, kindergarten, before / after school and Jordan District Off-Track schedules. While your children are at our facility, we will provide them with a variety of recreational activities which promote their physical, emotional, social and creative skills development. Activities your children will participate in include cognitive and social skills learning, arts and crafts, games, sports, cooking experiences, and field trips to name a few. Please call 385-468-1715 for program availability.

 

Child care programs are closed on the following holidays and tuition credits are not available for these days:

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Pioneer Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday)
  • Christmas Day

 

We ask that you do not send toys, candy, gum or money from home in order to prevent lost or broken personal items and to prevent conflicts between children.

Specific information on our Child Care Programs: 

 

Children will participate in a variety of recreational activities which promote their physical, emotional, social and creative skills development including arts and crafts, games, sports, cooking experiences, and field trips to name a few.

We complete thorough background checks on all teachers and volunteers. Teachers receive a minimum of 20 hours of annual training to update their skills and improve their interaction with your children. We provide meals and snacks through a regulated and nationally recognized food program. Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis and waiting lists are taken to fill vacancies that become available.
